Munyama simply means ‘bad luck’ in most native Southern African Bantu languages. This song is a simple prayer asking God to cleanse me. Sometimes we think it’s bad luck, sins of our forefathers or even black magic that affects our day to lives. Sometimes, its just how our different economies hit us and thus we are affected negatively, differently. My fellow Zimbabweans, we have gone through decadesof mishaps & bad karma. Sing along with me and pray that this bad omen in our land is gotten rid of. Lord God please don’t forget us, your Sons & Daughters. If there is ever a time in our lives that we need you, it is now. We humbly request your grace & intervention before we lose our legacies and destinies! Please cleanse us of all this MUNYAMA!!
